The hub is a digital platform for everyone that includes music in their work with families. This might be:

  • 10 minute sing-song at the end of a stay and play or playgroup
  • A 'Rhyme time' in a local library
  • Dedicated music sessions in a family hub or children's centre
  • Home visits by health visitors / other family workers
  • Music delivered in healthcare or perinatal mental health settings

We know how busy this workforce is.

And we know that too often, group leaders can feel unsupported, undervalued, and under-confident in their music delivery. 

But we also know something else: sound and music are powerful.

It's part of who we are, laying the foundations for life and learning.

Music-making brings communities together, builds confidence, strengths attachments, enhances wellbeing, encourages creativity — and plays a vital role in early childhood development.

We believe every family with young children should have the chance to experience the joy, healing, and connection that music can bring.

  •  A song bank - full of songs, rhymes and activities that your families will love, in the form of quality learning tracks and song-cards (lyrics, activities and resource suggestions) that are available to download and/or print.
  •  Resources to download and print for your device or folder, as well as to share directly with families.
  •   Learning and CPD - short, self-paced courses as well as live virtual training sessions to inform and inspire (replays always available).
  • Community  - opportunities to share and connect with trainers and peers.

About The Family Music Hub 

 

The Family Music Hub was founded in 2021, by early childhood musicians, researchers and consultants Nicola Burke, Katie Neilson and Rosie Adediran. 

💥 We support anyone who uses music in their work with children under 5 and their families.

💥 Our goal is simple: to help these leaders to maximise the benefits of family music making in their communities.

💥 We do this by offering high quality training, resources and consultancy to this amazing workforce!
